**** Here is a recap from Eric Rosenberg *****

Starting out, about 21 dishes were expected, including 7 desserts, 7 sides/appetizers & 7 main dishes. We ended up with over 30 items which worked out well because 38 -40 people signed up for the outing, and ended up having 57. Eric was overwhelmed with gratitude by the efforts and participation by his fellow club members. Judges were members Eric, Glen P (Restaurant owner) & Tom M (Professional chef) and they tasted every single dish. Among the amazing home cooked desserts were a flan, two different amazing chocolate cakes, delicious cheesecake, cookies, brownies & 4 separate "bread puddings" with Rob W's amazing bread pudding with a warm sweet bourbon sauce taking home the prize. There were too many sides/appetizers to count. From Adam's tender brisket, Reuben bites by Georgiana, crab dip, ham & cheese sliders, mac & cheese, two dishes by Terri M, salads, but the two actual pros were blown away by Hank's sweet cole slaw, saying it was about the best they have tasted and they would serve that in their place as a side and he took home the prize. The main courses were a very tough decision. There was Todd's delicious chicken picata (Which Eric took home for dinner for his family), two variations of chili, Jim's sausage and peppers, two different gumbos' Keith's delicious pulled pork sliders. The Second prize winner went to Steve R, with his amazing chili. First prize and the winner of a guided night snook trip aboard 772 charters with Capt James Cronk & Eric was Irma Cortes/Scott Annis, with an amazing Puerto Rican take on lasagna called Pastellon, which had the chefs shaking their head. This was an absolutely amazing job by our home cooks/members.
